SENATE READY TO SHOW BUDGET PLAN

State budget deliberations are set to resume on Beacon Hill as lawmakers wrestle over details of a proposed $36.2 billion spending plan for the July 1st fiscal year. The Senate Ways and Means Committee is scheduled on Wednesday to release its version of the budget, which will then go to the full Senate for a vote later in the month. The budget calls for an overall spending increase of about 5 percent, but with no new taxes.
