JAILHOUSE SNITCH AT ISSUE IN HIGH PROFILE CASE

JAILHOUSE SNITCH AT ISSUE IN HIGH PROFILE CASE

The lawyer for the second man facing trial in a Berkshire County triple slaying has asked a judge to dismiss as evidence several statements made by jailhouse informants he says are ``irrelevant and unduly prejudicial.''

David Chalue of North Adams, is charged with helping kidnap and kill David Glasser, Robert Chadwell and Edward Frampton, all of Pittsfield, in August 2011.

The 47-year-old Chalue, who pleaded not guilty, is scheduled for trial April 22 in Hampden Superior Court.

The ringleader of the plot was convicted in February of three counts of murder and other charges.

The Berkshire Eagle  reports that Chalue's attorney has filed a motion to keep the statements of three informants from being used as evidence at trial. The informants allege Chalue made incriminating statements.
