Holyoke officials continue to point fingers at each other over the partial collapse of the Essex House. The 134 year old structure has been the subject on an on-going debate between the mayor and the city council as to who is delaying the process of razing the structure. Each blames the other. The mayor says that the city has hired a construction firm to take down the building. The council wants the former owners to be responsible for that. Meantime the Red Cross is helping residents around that building -- putting them up in a hotel for the weekend while the demolition progresses.
